Bluegrass Area Agency on Aging and Independent Living (BGAAAIL) has partnered with Uniper to provide our members with access to a virtual community of people like you that is accessible directly from your TV, web, tablet, and mobile devices; a place where you can connect with friends, family, and community as easily as clicking a button on your remote control. Take a class, explore a new hobby, or join an exercise class; Uniper brings all of this to you from the comfort of your own home!

With Uniper it’s easy to connect with loved ones, meet new friends, inspire and be inspired. Enrich your body, mind, and spirit through their personalized collection of live classes and activities, tailored health recommendations, and dynamic interactive experiences; all tailored to your unique needs.

BGAAAIL and Uniper believe that everyone deserves access to the care, community and services they need to live a vibrant, healthy, and fulfilling life. With Uniper, there is no need to learn complicated technology. Once you sign up, you can choose how you would like to access the Uniper platform. Available via TV, web, tablet, and mobile, you can choose the option that is best for you. From there a Uniper team member will contact you to get started. Whether it’s guiding you through setting up your account on your computer, or scheduling a time to come to your home and install and configure your new uniTV system, the Uniper team is on-hand to help. They will guide you through the process and show you just how easy it is to get started.

Honor My Decisions

Bluegrass Area Agency on Aging and Independent Living is partnering with Honor My Decisions to provide free access to a digital advanced care plan to anyone 60 or older in our service area.

Honor My Decisions provides the Advanced Care Planning tools, training, and education to support relevant, meaningful Advanced Care Planning conversations, help people make and share informed care decisions, and ensure their comprehensive advance care plans are accessible and honored. 

• Advance care planning is an important way for people to have a voice in their health care when they can no longer speak for themselves.

• It can help healthcare teams deliver compassionate care that preserves human dignity and aligns with a person’s values.

• Making advance care plans and discussing these issues should be normal for all adults (regardless of their health status) and should be supported at all stages of life with relevant, meaningful planning activities.

• Advance care planning is more than an advance directive or POLST document and includes thinking about, discussing, and sharing values and priorities.

• It should be a deliberative, informed process that is supported with appropriate education and resources.

• People own their advance care plan (not the healthcare system) and it should be both easy to find and for the person to make changes over time as their preferences evolve.
